Dear all,
You may remember that I posted an item about a month ago, asking if anyone
knew a way to import IDL output into Macintosh applications (eg. MS PowerPoint)
without using EPS or some bitmap based format such as TIF, the advantage being
that you could then annotate and recolour it etc.
The response from this group was along the lines of: "I tried it and gave up
in the end" and similar sentiments. However, after enquiring from the Mac
graphics group I found a program called GraphicConverter which will take CGM
files and translate them to PICT without having to go through any bitmap
format. I can highly recommend it. However it is advisible to use the IDL
vector drawn fonts, rather than try to use a `hardware' font and change it to
your favorite font in the Mac application later, as the final text will not
necessarily be aligned correctly.
It can be found at mac.archive.umich.edu (it is shareware)
