Well it does sound like I am asking the impossible. The fields aren't
always consistent, and are definitely not in a consistent format (even
the delimiters!). And taking on an multinational to change their
format(!!) is not my idea of fun. So much for making life easier. It's
back to strtok for me...thanks for the suggestions.
