Hello,

It seems to me that very few people are using IDL Data Miner.
Could someone prove me wrong and direct me to the experts?

Does anyone know if Data Miner works with a product called mySQL?

Thanks!

Hi,

I've been using DataMiner for some time now, with Oracle 8. It seems to work
fully as advertised, although I have a few items on my wish list. Chapter 2
in the DataMiner manual (datamine.pdf) gives a good overview of how it
works.

I see that mySQL has ODBC support which *should* be all that's required for
it to work, but there are always exceptions. If you're running Windows NT,
and in ODBC Control Panel you can set up a System Data Source or File Data
Source to your DB, that's a great start. In Windows 2000 Pro... uh, I
recently upgraded, where did ODBC go?... ah: Control Panel:Administrative
Tools:Data Sources (ODBC).

Drop me a line or post here if there's a question I can help with.

I know it's a kind of late contribution, but wanted to let you know that
we had examined using DataMiner, but decided that it was too pricey as a
user add-on to warrant further investigation.
