A few quick thoughts for you. If I understand your
problem correctly, I had a similar problem recently.
I had a problem a few months ago (spring 2000) when
I found that in *some* cases (IIRC mostly to do with
DG plots with two y-axes), there was IDL output outside
of the IDL-drawn BB.
Do a search for my name and you'll find the thread with
some good suggestions from others that ultimately solved
my problem.
IIRC I came up with two other workarounds.
1) Change the BB by hand in a text editor.
2) Have LaTeX clip the graph outside the default
BB. This may require a BB specification with
negative values, e.g. bb= -10 -10 250 250
or whatever the proper syntax is for
\includegraphics or whatever graphics-inclusion-command
you are using (I forget right now the exact syntax of this
command).
HTH,
Andrew
