Hmmm, learn another new interface or put up with grey edit screen. I know,
download idlwave and maybe install it if the grey edit screen starts to give
me SAD symptoms ;->
Shame there does'nt seem to be a way of simply changing the default
background, its based on an 'IDL ' widget I spose.

Thanks,

Marc

Well, just get the idlwave mode for emacs. It's really wonderful!!
Once you figure out for example that C-c ? gives you the calling
sequence of a routine, you don't want to miss it any more. Etc etc.
See the recent thread and in particular JD Smith's "ad".

Cheers,
Martin

They've withdrawn 'Chromacoding' for the unix version, I was just getting
used to it as well :-(
On the bright side my sun cut, paste and copy keyboard buttons work
predictably under idl for the first time. All I need now is for the IDL
edit window to have a white instead of dismal grey background.
