Now that version 6 of Matlab with it's improved tools for volume
visualization has been out for a bit I am hoping that someone can provide
some feedback on how it stacks up to IDL for segmentation and visualization
of data sets. I am specifically interested in: ease of development, speed
of execution, availability of tools for image segmentation (I know that 3rd
party toolboxes are needed in Matlab), and any other comments that people
experienced in the field might have.

Thanks!
