I've trawled the archives, with little luck, but hopefully it's
an easy question - is there a workaround to use more than one
filter in DIALOG_PICKFILE ?
Or has someone got a nice tidy little programto do this?
All the ones I have are a bit too involved for what I need.
Thanks in advance,

Rochelle,

Mind not the growling hound at the gate. His every bark is laced with well-intended
sarcasm and, I suspect, would be horrified to think his comment
suppressed the
free-flow of info on this newsgroup. (I don't know what to say about
all that drool
though.)

I doubt there is a silly question that doesn't have a rich potential for learning.
The recent unveiling of lurkers (brings a tear to my eye just to think
of the
outpouring) reveals that the rest of us eagerly await
David/Mark/JD/Med/Martin/Craig/Pavel/Liam/Reimar/Paul/... to provide an answer.

Ask away and 'damn the torpedoes'.

Ben

PS. 'torpedos' ? 'torpedoes' ? 'torpetoes' ? 'toepdeoes' ?
Sigh. What a way to ruin a really good line!
I better get off the soap box now.

No luck, but filter="*.[di][am][tg]" does work, as
Martin suggested.

Coyote has never minded silly questions. In fact, he
has made a career out of asking and answering them.
What raises his hackles is laziness. And he has never
detected any in any of your questions, Rochelle. :-)

This just led to a new postit sticker on my monitor until I remember.
Geeeez... Once you think you know a little bit about something .....
(don't care whether it works in IDL ;-)

Uh, that's the general idea. Although usually this message
is sent via private e-mail, which annoys me even more, since
then no one else has a chance to learn anything. :-)

Cheers,

David

Dear David: I was using IDL and none of my colors are working. I blame
you. Why doesn't IDL work? I run something and the vectors are wrong
but it didn't even work once. What did you do wrong? Also, I can't get
to the 4th row of my vector. If Idl weren't so stupid I would be able
to. Write a program to show me how to do the problem I have. It's #4
of the last homework in my class. It's really long. I looked on your
web page but you didn't tell me how. It's due today and IDL isn't very
fast or I would be done already.
