Yesterday, I wrapped up my posting with:

A couple of people have pointed out that I was less than clear on
this point, wondering if I was talking about the pagefile or simply
the per user pagefile quota.

In fact, I was thinking about single user workstations, where there
isn't much of a difference between the two. On large timesharing
systems, it is a little more complicated:
- Each IDL user who processes large data sets needs a pagefile
quota large enough to handle their needs.
- The system pagefile(s) needs to be large enough to cover the
maximum needs of all the processes that are simultaneously
going to execute.
