Hello,

I have been using the MULTICOMPARE procedure in IDL's statlib,
in particular, the Scheffe test. An example of my command line is:

multicompare,y,contrast,.05,cutoff,/one_way,/scheffe

I thought I was getting reasonable values for cutoff, until I did some
checking. I tried a simple example in Snedecor and Cochran,
(Statistical Methods) and also used the same data in IDL and Statview
on the MacIntosh. IDL gave different critical values than Statview
did.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular procedure?
Any reason to distrust the IDL statlib code?

I appreciate any leads.
