Does anybody know if RSI will ever extend the size of the "input buffer"
IDL uses to read/convert string data (Currently (V3.5.1) at 2048 bytes).
This problem occurs when trying to read or convert (to/from) string data
with any of the functions: READ, READF, READS, and STRING.
I've figured out elaborate ways around this but it takes forever to read in the
data with all the buffering and decoding I have to do. Does anybody have
a better/faster way?
thanks.
