I heard from RSI by e-mail that they know about the color_quan problem
and have fixed it in IDL v.2.2.2. It will be released in a couple of weeks.

In my opinion, their quick response is amazing! We're getting near-real-time
help from a vendor that's half-way around the world! Way to go mates.
I guess I'd better start wrapping up that homebrew I promised to whoever
could fix my problem. By sea-mail it should be in Boulder around Valentine's
day.
