Ok, so it seems like IDL can perform only one event at a time.
I am using SPAWN command now, BUTwhy the hell would they then say :
" - Multiple widget applications can run in parallel, each with equal priority among the others"...

iI guess it is not as easy as it sounds. I guess I should always try to find a fine print here...<but WEHRE?>
Anyway, thanks for all your advices, at least now I have some way of doing it
