stupid me.

due to an idiosyncratic emacs install, done by a namless linux
distro... with a little help from yours truly ;-), I have both:

/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp
and
/usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp.

idlwave is installed in the latter but is looking for stuff in
the former path. what a mess. for now I'm kludging it with
some symlinks. next time I install linux I know how to avoid this.

perhaps there is a setting in some idlwave file that would
fix all this, but the symlinks I made seem to have solved
the problem.

Thx.

AN.

Thats not quite correct. IDLWAVE is installed in one directory and
Emacs (not IDLWAVE) is looking on a different path. Two fixes:

1. Add the directory to the Emacs search path

or

2. Make IDLWAVE install in the other directory by editing the
makefile. This is all explained in the INSTALL file in the IDLWAVE
distribution.
