Don't feel so bad. Or, what do you think Microsoft should feel?

Craig and David,
thanks for the encouragement! the egg-on-my-face feeling
particularly is frustrating when you were hoping to offer
something helpful to others, but it ends up being a drain
to them. and esp. when the routine is used by other
routines, and so the error becomes magnified, as in this
case :(.
best,
-Johnny

On the other hand, I've published code on my web page which was
totally wrong, and nobody has ever reported it. A year or two later
I've come back and slapped my head the error was so obvious. [ Other
bugs have been reported by loyal users and I thank them for it. ]

I don't know. I've always belonged to the school that
said plunge head-first into it while you are still
basking in the glow of what a hotshot programmer you
are. Then you not only get immediate feedback about
all the bugs in your code, but the humility you feel
goes a long way towards improving relations at home. :-)
Cheers,
David
