We have pvwave on our DEC 5000, and I would like to use it for
plotting simulation output. I want to use pvwave because
it is the only graphics software on our machine. I have run
into a number of difficulties that I am sure others have had.
Some of the features that I need or would like include:
- a matlab like plot command where plot(x,y) accepts
a matrix y and automatically scales the y-axis, and automatically
changes line colors and styles. plot and oplot in wave
are quite cumbersome at this.
- an automatic legend routine that puts variable names
and line styles in a specified location.
- dashed grid lines
- a way to print the plot as it appears on the screen.
This would allow one to tinker with the plot to get it
just right, and then just type print.
- interactive zoom (like xgraph) has.
I have played with pvwave for some time trying to get an adequate
plotting routine and no longer have time to continue.
I would like to hear from more experience users on their ideas,
suggestions, or already written routines.
Sincerely,
Phil Miller
