They tried that once and it was a disaster.
I personally think Direct Graphics is here to
stay. Although I wouldn't expect too may enhancements
to a graphics system that was the cat's meow in the
late 1970's.

No. Although I hear all kinds of things on the rumor
mill. You never know who will be willing to give up a life
of comfort to write a book. :-)
