3D renderings (medical) in IDL? [message #2697] Mon, 15 August 1994 13:19

Hi all.

I do most of my image processing in IDL, and have for quite some
time, so I'm very familiar with the package.

My question is can anyone tell me whether IDL's volume rendering
capabilities can compare to those of, say, PovRay and other ray
tracing engines.

From what I've seen of IDL's 3D volume rendering capabilities, I'd
say not much. Any input?

matthew
