IDL vs MATLAB? [message #2701] Sun, 14 August 1994 12:41

Hello,

We are an MRI research lab, and are looking into either IDL or MATLAB
to process time-domain data from the scanner. The basic functions
needed are FFT (multi-D) of the raw data, signal processing and
3-d reconstruction of images. Segmentation and volume rendering of
specific features from the image data is important. We've heard
a great deal about the 3-d display capabilities of IDL, and the
signal processing powers of MATLAB. How do the two stack up
against each other? Has anyone had a chance to compare the two?

Thanks,

David Fenyes (dfenyes@thesis1.med.uth.tmc.edu)
