You can find an example of OG ROI code at
http://spot.colorado.edu/~romashki/idl/display.html
However, my personal opinion is that you'd be better off combining the
ROI analyses using objects (not necesserily object graphics) and
contouring from Direct graphics. I could never make any sense out of
IDLgrContour :-(
