I'm afraid you have the wrong newsgroup. comp.lang.idl-pvwave is a
newsgroup to support the Interactive Data Language from Research
Systems, Inc. PV-Wave is another similar package.

The newsgroup for the interface definition language (also IDL) is
comp.lang.idl. Try again there, and I'll bet you have better luck.

Have you downloaded the IDL source code for Unix by mistake?
What is the URL, by the way?
