Mostly correct. IDL will be supported for Sparc Solaris, but not
Solaris x86 (not a terrible loss in my book). It will *probably* be
supported in MacOSX, but by somewhat of a back route: a Unix version
using an X11 windows server running alongside the native windowing
environment (Quartz). RSI is working on such a version, thanks in part
to community outcry at their recent announcement of dropping all Mac
support including the much-touted complete rewrite of IDL for OSX, but
it's not guaranteed. Expect news on its progress soon.
