Hi

I want to create an animated gif using idl 5.2. I can use the command
write_gif with the multiple key word. The problem is, the resulting gif only
runs once and then stops but I want it to run recurrently.

It should be an easy task, write_gif is in the idl library and I guess I
only have to change a tag in the gif header. So is someone out there who has
already done this?

I am thankful for any advises

I believe there are two main problems by the gif and idl.
1) The standard format used by idl for gif is to old I think it was
GIF87
2) In later IDL version gif support was stopped may be after paying the
gif licensing fee it is possible
to implement gif again.

If you load in animation shop your gif image movie you may be able to
translate it.
