If you are stuck with xobjview, I think your only choice is to enlarge the
window, take a snapshot of it with your favorite screen grabber, and then
resize the image to increase the dpi. At around 1024x1024 you should be
able to get a decent 10 cm x 10 cm image.

Can you use your pointer to resize the xobjview window? I haven't tried
using the xsize,ysize keywords but I have resized the xobjview window with
my pointer without problems. If you are getting an error on any resize I
would look at what you are passing to xobjview as the culprit.

Isn't using raster files for publications kind of bad idea to start
with? Is there a reason you can't use PS?
