I've been informed by RSI's UK office that an announcement regarding support
will be
made in the near future - The grapevine however, says that Tru64 support is
back on , but only
from Tru64 v5.1 !

Gee, that would be great news! I had to 'upgrade' to Tru64 v5.1 from
4.4, and
it was painful, worsened considerably by a hard disk crash on my system
disk
midway through. IDL5.5 does indeed NOT work on Tru64 version 4.4, which
is
what prompted the upgrade. Unfortunately, now several other programs
that
USED to work under 4.4 no longer do....

I never did get an answer from RSI to my anguished cry at their
abandonment
of Tru64, but I hope this rumor is true.
