Does anyone out there have a faster version of project_vol.pro ?
Either that, or do you have a C code version of the same routine?

I have an aplication where I'd like to use project_vol, but it is a tad slow.

Before you all eat me alive, yes I have found the source and I could probably
translate it into C or something by myself.
It's just that I'm lazy....
I'd like it in C as I could then use code profiling tools to see where the
routine is spending all its time, then hand-code those loops.

(Don't tell me - its trivial to do call profiling etc. in IDL ?
If it is I'd be really happy :-> )
