As a regular reader, though not-so-regular poster, of this group, I much
prefer reply text to follow the actual body of the message. The solution
to your dilemma is more properly, not to quote 200 lines worth of material
in the first place. Readers can always go back and find earlier messages in
the thread, in google groups if not elsewhere, so there's no need to keep
the entire thing around in perpetuity in all new posts.
