Hi all,
Quick query:
Has anybody had any experience with trying to *write* a DICOM file from
within IDL? As far as I can tell, there aren't any libraries in IDL to
directly write a DICOM file, the closest thing being an ASCII dump of
the header using IDLffDICOM:DumpElements.
I've tried to have a play with the OFFIS dicom toolkit
(http://www.offis.de/projekte/dicom/); specifically dump2dcm utility,
but its been a rather fruitless attempt. I'm running IDL 5.4 on solaris
on a geriatric (perhaps senile) SPARCstation 5, and using gcc to compile
all my external c code*.
Even is this is possible, I'd still perfer to have a solution that runs
natively in IDL (so I don't have to worry about compiling the C code on
other platforms). Is there anyone out there with good/bad experiences in
this area?
cheers,
Bhautik
*I also had toast dipped in tea for breakfast, and it didn't taste too
bad.
