Folks,
At the last meeting of the IDL Expert Programmer's Association
Executive Committee there was an item of New Business that
needs your attention. (Those of you who have been following
along will realize this is the first order of new business
in over a decade. Most of the time the Old Business
inspires such a ruckus that the police throw us out
before we even get to the topic. I attribute the relatively
restrained tone of the last meeting to the graying
of our members and their continued reluctance to
admit younger (and--let's admit it--brighter)
members, but that's another story.)
Anyway, after numerous threats (and even more drunken
counter-threats) the following resolution was placed
on the record for a vote of the members. To wit:
Be it resolved that the name of the IDL Expert
Programmer's Association be changed to the IDL
Expert Body Over All Scientific and Technical
Spheres, or IDLEBOASTS.
Voting will end at close of business Friday. The
victors will be holding a victory celebration
starting at 5PM at the usual location. (If past
voting irregularities are any indication, you have
a better chance of having your vote counted if
you vote early rather than later.)
