Hi!

I just installed IDL 5.3 on a PC as usual: Insert CD, locate setup.exe,
press shift+right mouse button and choose 'Install as...' and then start
the setup as administrator. I do this because when I log out and
re-login as administrator, other users seem to have no rights to change
the preferences. Well, sometimes they still can't, but that's another
story.

What happens now is that when starting IDL, it seems it does something
like this first:

for i = 1, 2 do begin
dummy = dialog_message( 'Access denied', /error )
dummy = dialog_message( 'Configuration file corrupted', $
/error )
endfor

This does not seem to be a problem, though, everything is working fine
as far as I can tell. But I still wonder what this might be.
