This statement makes me more confused???
Wouldn't the user still need the Xtools X-server to show the IDL
X-windows, even if the X11 libraries are statically linked into IDL?
Or will somehow a stand-alone X-server also be built into IDL, so that
no external X11 implementation (either Xtools or XDarwin) will be
necessary??
Otherwise, it's good to hear that RSI has listened to our concerns
about IDL and Mac OSX!!! I'm looking forward to Altivec accelaration
and easy linking with fortran/C routines and libraries, at the expense
of the nice Mac IDL user interface.
