I've got a frustrating (but undoubtedly obvious) license problem (and I've discovered a reason to like windows in the process :-)
I have a RedHat Linux box running RH 7.0 that is "up2date". Until yesterday, IDL has run fine. Yesterday, for the first time in 6 months I had to reboot the system.
Now the license manager won't start. I'm sure it's related to something I did in the last 6 months but I can't remember everything I've done since the last reboot (having
to reboot windows daily, it's easier to remember all the changes since the last reboot :-)
Anyway, the start of the logfile looks like this...

8:35:27 (lmgrd) There are many details in licensing policies
8:35:27 (lmgrd) that are not reported in the information logged
8:35:27 (lmgrd) here, so if you use this log file for any kind
8:35:27 (lmgrd) of usage reporting you will generally produce
8:35:27 (lmgrd) incorrect results.

with the last several lines repeating about 10 times. 5.4 is the version of IDL that I'm currently running and the file they say doesn't exist, does and it even has the
correct permissions.
I've tried completly removing IDL and installing from scratch, with no change in results.
Any ideas (also submitted to RSI but no response yet)
