Hi all,
I'm maintaining a big
(large(huge(enormous(small(tiny(big(chihuahua[1])))))) widget
application and the time has come to start verifying how it behaves on
different platforms. So, off we went and did what we thought would be
the necessary small changes (eg checking the endian-ness of the platform
etc.) and we ran into a snag on the win32 plaform.
Specifically, its with xloadct. The problem is fairly hard to describe,
but I'll have a go:
* when we run xloadct from the top level widget window, it runs fine -
colourmaps can be happily chopped and changed, and everything updates
nicely.
* when xloadct is run from within a child widget window, it partially
locks up - it appears on the screen, but clicking on any of the widgets
within the xloadct window (buttons, scrollbars, radio buttons etc.) does
not generate an event or response, and you have to force the closure of
the xloadct window.
I've run this on a variety of setups (windows 95, NT4, win2000) and at a
variety of colour depths (8,16,24,32 bit) on various IDL versions (5.0,
5.1, 5.4) and, with no joy on any combination of them.
The call to xloadct in all instances is simple:
xloadct,group=event.top
and it works perfectly on the solaris boxes. I fiddled with the blocking
and modal parameters for xloadct, but to no avail.
Is there something obvious that I am missing? Any help would be much
appreciated.
Thanks,
Bhautik
