Ok... time for an "I'm lost ... " question. I'm trying to submit some
plots to a journal

that claims to require "Vector Graphics", which it suggests should be made
in a program like Adobe Illustrator

(which I, of course, don't have). However, it says that the "Vector
Graphics" should be .eps file created by

Illustrator. I know that IDL can create .eps files, so the question is,
does IDL create "Vector Graphics" when

a .eps file is created?

Thanks!

Sean

I would agree with the others. An .eps file created in IDL should be ok (I
wouldn't worry about the rgb/cmyk issue). I suggest setting your font type
to 0 (!P.Font=0) as my experience has shown that many programs will not
import the text correctly if it is set to anything else. Also, .eps files
cannot contain more than one page (IDL will let you plot multiple pages, but
most programs will choke on the file).

Other programs allow you to edit/manipulate .eps files too, not just
Illustrator. Corel draw is one which is licensed by many government labs,
maybe you have access to that.

Does your fish play the guitar? This might be a whole new field of study
for my lab...
