Can anyone point me to IDL codes for reading and writing analyze
format images as defined be Mayo's Analyze and discussed at
http://www.dclunie.com/medical-image-faq/html/part5.html ?

I've got some beginning of my own reader/writer. If there isn't
anything else out there, I'll clean it up and eventually make it
available.

Mike

P.S. Thanks for all the followups to my question about getting
access to command line arguments.

I've recently put an image viewer which can read Analyze files as well
as the standard formats onto my web site at
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~njzalm/idl_files.htm
The viewer is still being developed so it is a bit buggy in places
(mainly in dealing with true colour images). The Analyze routines
which the viewer uses are also on the web site and should be
reasonably robust. I've tried to deal with 2d, 3d and 4d images in a
sensible way and hopefully the problem with big-endian and
little-endian formats has been dealt with.
