Bill,
I can't help you on how to get fonts for widgets, but when I was trying to
make widget tables, I first thought that IDL was using proprotional spacing.
However, I found that on the VAXstations the font is not proportionally spaced,
but rather all spaces are actually half-spaces (i.e. all characters have the
same width except spaces, which are half width.) I fixed this by having the
display software (tediously) search though each line and replace all spaces
with two spaces. This made the table columns line up properly. I think....
