It may be worth remembering that IDL v5.5 is not supported under
Win95.
Win98, NT 4.0 and Win2000 are the officially supported Windows
versions,
as printed inside the cover of the IDL v5.5 disk.
So there's an outside chance that it is not a programming error on
your part, but rather a failure to upgrade your OS... ;-)
