Hello, we have tricky problem that appears for IDL 3.6 under Solaris 2.3,
but NOT under SunOS4.1
Using call external to call a C function which reads/writes to a socket connection
we find that under Solaris 2.3 the socket read is non-blocking, and comes
straight back with an "interrupted system call" system error. Under SunOS
4.1 the read is blocking (as it should be).

We have tried some limited hacking with trying to mask the SIGINT signal,
but this has no effect. Has anybody heard anything about this or similar
problems? (before we start talking to RSI, that is...)

Thanks! David Burgess (Astronomy Unit, QMW, London, UK)
