I have a quick question. I am a big newbie when it comes to IDL, but
the place that I work at uses it extensively. I am used to C/C++, and
I want to know how does one define a constant in IDL (similar to
#DEFINE TRUE 1 in C/C++). I have read through the user manuals, but to
no avail. Also, are there any good tutorials online to help a
struggling newbie like me? The user manuals 'cover' all the material,
but rather poorly.

Oh, right. I've got to work on that picture. I've been
reported to the Federal Trade Commission three times in
the past six weeks for "false advertising". :-(
Cheers,
David

Since I have seen your picture, I can assure you that I am
not that young (and thankfully so! Cannot think that some
people have to work for another 25 years before then can
retire -- poor sods!!).

On the blink, as usual. I was amazed at how Python 'imported'
modules even though it is similar to PV-Wave in its
interpretive nature. Could never understand why Wave does not
do the same thing.

Uh, I'm going to guess you're not nearly as old
as some of the rest of us in this group, Surendar. :-)
Cheers,
David
P.S. Let's just say if you were thinking "punch cards"
you would be closer to the answer.
