This is sort of a weird problem, as I'm not entirely sure it is IDL's fault,
but I figure it's worth at least asking here in case anyone else has
seen similar.

I'm using IDL on Solaris. If I highlight text in another window and then
middle-click on my IDL terminal, the text pastes in v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
As in, up to 5 seconds to paste in one 80-character line. This makes
using IDL interactively somewhat of a drag...

It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm pasting from a file in vim or if
I just cat the file and paste from that. I get the same behavior from a
linux machine when sshed to the Solaris box and running IDL there.
It isn't *always* slow, but seems to be so a fair amount of the time.

Google isn't returning any hits on anything along these lines. Anyone else
ever seen something like this?
