Hi folks,
I am currently working with BW PNG files.
I read PNG files via READ_PNG. I get UINT8 file. I thought PNG should
be a UINT16 file. Then I convert the file to double precision.

I do the same with Matlab and and convert it to double precision.

The double precision matrix from these do not match. For example
maximum value for IDL is 8.000, where as Matlab gives 1258. What is
happening? is there a problem with READ_PNG?
