hi,
I have an image in this address.
http://www.geocities.com/r_akhila/original.bmp

This image has two backgrounds - Soft tissue (medium gray) and air
(black). The vessels that are within the blackish region is not
wanted. I want to set them all to zero. The vessels around the gray
shade that's within the soft tissue is that i want. Anybody please
tell me how i can differentiate the two backgrounds and seperate the
vessels. I tried thresholding and some morphological operations but
didn't work well.

Thank you in advance,

-Akhila.
