Research Systems is looking for a talented, dedicated software engineer to
join the ENVI (Environment for Visualizing Images) development team.
Primary responsibilities will be developing algorithms and user interfaces
for future versions of ENVI - the leading software package for hyperspectral
data analysis. Areas of algorithm development will center around general
remote sensing tools including: image classification/feature extraction,
data specific file readers/writers, advanced spectral tools, GIS
functionality, change detection, and geometric correction tools.

Required minimum skills and qualifications:
-Solid programming skills with proven proficiency in IDL and C/C++ or Java.
-Minimum 5-7 years scientific software development experience.
-High level knowledge of remote sensing/Earth sciences theory and
application strongly desired.
-Experience designing/implementing image processing software (algorithms and
user interfaces).
-BA/BS or advance degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline
strongly preferred.
-Experience with scientific data formats and geographic information systems
desired.
