changing graph colors in Win2k IDL 5.4 [message #31948]

First off, I gained most of my experience using IDL in VMS on a TEK
terminal.

That sets the stage...

I cannot figure out how to get !p.color to work with windows IDL 5.4.
Perhaps this is a depricated color
variable? I just get varying shades of red no matter what I do.

What's the "modern" approach to changing graph colors?

The IDL online help for "Using Color" doesn't seem appropriate.
