Anyone know when IDL 5.6 will be released? I see from the RSI page
that the Mac OS X version will be in 5.6. I realize that beta testers
are sworn to secrecy about the features in 5.6, but it would be nice
to know when we might expect it to show up. Obscure hints, anyone?

We received a sales pitch from RSI today offering special deals on the
upcoming Mac version of IDL 5.6. The offer ends September 25. Make of
that what you will.

You may obtain the IDL 5.6 Mac OS X "pre-release" by joining the IDL 5.6
Beta program. Do to so, simply email info@rsinc.com.

Also, the IDL 5.6 beta has a patch to run under 10.2. You can obtain the
patch on the IDL 5.6 Beta Web site once you join the testing program.

Thanks for your interest and your help testing IDL 5.6!
