Uh, what's happening? Is RSI becoming interested in what users are
doing? Is this a good or bad sign? Is it reaching out to offer a site to
exchange information or trying to get influx of ideas?...

I'm willing to give RSI the benefit of the doubt and
suggest they are finally reaching out to their users
in ways they didn't before. (Although how their forum
is going to attract people away from this newsgroup, I
don't know. What could be better than this newsgroup!?)
Now, when are they going to come up with some funds for
the IDL Expert Programmers Association, is what I want to
know! That would really mark them as legitimate.
Cheers,
David
P.S. For those of you unfamiliar with the IDL Expert
Programmers Association (IEPA) and who are wondering
how to join, I've put some information on my web page:

Cheers,
David
