idl, pvwave demos needed [message #322]

Could someone please tell me where I can get demo versions of
idl and pvwave. We would like to evaluate both of these packages.
If purchased, the package would be used to develop interactive
software to analyze data.

If anyone has an opinion of these on which is better, I would
appreciate any input. My biggest concern is input/output
since the database will be large and I'm not sure of the format.
I would like to know how easy it will be to integrate with C and
Motif for example.
