thanks for all the replies.
For anyone who is interested, I was on the phone to RSI yesterday,
exploring the options.
HASP licenses end with IDL 5.5, with IDL 5.6 there will be "Personal
Use" licenses. The "Personal Use" is only for Mac and Win machines.
(I wonder about this last statement, surely they will be for linux
boxes too??? I swear someone down the hall has a HASP license on their
linux laptops, which will have to be upgraded to a PU).
Also, the "Personal Use" license costs $500 for the upgrade the current
valid licesne from node locked (even though I do pay the maintenance fee.)
Nothing will allow the user to transfer their license across OS-es.
So I am screwed, unless i buy two licenses (CHA-CHING!).
I guess I will have to make all my computers
MS-Windows machines UGH, and look into the personal use license,
(or, dare i say, a matlab license.... ack!).
Cheers,
bob
note: I currently have no email address to reply to, please post to
the newsgroup. Well, I do have an email address, but in order to keep
my "mortgage rate", "earn a degree", and "increase your ... ahem ... size"
spam to less then 20 a day, I don't put it on usenet.
