In response to requests from the users of IDL and other RSI software
products, a brand new User Forum is now live on the RSI Web site:
http://www.rsinc.com/forum
The forum has been linked to the new User-Contributed Library so that users
can post and view threads that pertain to individual contributed files.
Enjoy,

Save and Restore? That one's been written up in the group, and I just
used it last week!

Hi Pavel--
I don't know what's so funny... I still have that dent in my skull
from the whitewater rafting trip.

David this is AWESOME! Thanks a lot! I have not laughed this much in a
long time, and even my colleagues started worrying, although they are
used to my histerical laughter typically caused by attempting printer
output directly from IDL. I guess this time they heard some other tones
in my voice.
Cheers,

The Committee on Questions is still working on this
year's question (in fact, they are still asking when
the question is *due*, but I've already answered this
question a dozen times and I don't intend to answer it again!),
but I've heard rumors it has something to do with objects.
I thought a good question might be "What is a simple
way to make a complete and faithful copy of an object?"
But it may be that my colleague, Dave Burridge, and I are
the only ones to know the answer to this. The good folks
at RSI either don't know or they are unwilling to let the
rest of the world in on it. Let's just say Dave and I were
shocked when we realized how easy it was!
Cheers,
David

But seriously... I don't want to read 2 idl newsgroups
(especially when the RSI one isn't available from tin)
so I somewhat doubt it will get much traffic. Maybe thats
too pessimistic.

I want to know: Whats this years question?
