Hi:
Do you know any surgical simulator created in IDL ?... or any other
similar 3-D medical system written in IDL ?... or other similar 3-D system
written in IDL (non medical) ?... I need an example of such a system, to
try to convince a medical imaging related laboratory to use IDL in the
neurological surgical simulator project that they have...

We are developing an IDL application which provides an interface to our
Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy device for treating deep seated brain
tumors. The application will accept real-time MRI data and calculate
thermal maps for the surgeon to assess treatment performance. We use IDL 's
power in DICOM , object graphics, volume rendering, and C-code interaction
to achieve what we need to do. Could not imagine doing this without IDL.
