CUPS printing woes [message #32387] Fri, 04 October 2002 09:53

I have a Lexmark 1100 inkjet printer attached via parallel port to a
system running RedHat 7.3, pretty much fully patched. I am using (or
trying to use) CUPS to get this baby printing. Everything "seems" to be
installed and setup correctly, print jobs appear to complete normally,
but no print ever comes out of the printer. I have confirmed that I
have selected the correct device (/dev/lp0) and that this device works.
I am using the lm1100.ppd file generated by the CUPS software.

Any ideas what silly little detail I have forgotten?

I have spent a couple of hours now reading documentation on CUPS, with
little luck. I've read some HOWTOs on the web... still no joy. I'll
happily take a link to some useful document, or even better the
experiences of someone with the same problem.

Thanks in advance.
